CAN ANYONE SUBMIT A MIX?
Yes. We like to keep DELTA 9 Downloads as varied as possible. If your mix is well thought out, well put together, original and not too commercial the chances are we'll like it.
WHAT'S THE PERFERED FORMAT?

We only accept AUDIO CD - no MP3 or Minidiscs please. Tapes are no longer accepted becasue we can't justify the time hey take to record and de-noise, and we have previously received complaints about sound qulity.

Mixes should be between 30 and 75 mins long.

WHERE SHOULD I SEND MY MIX?
Email and tell us about your mix, if we think it's suitable we'll give you an address to send it to. The tracklist should be sent by email even if it's also supplied in printed form. If there's a website link, some personal information, or a CD cover you'd like displayed with your mix please email us for advice.
CAN YOU MAKE FILES SMALLER/AUDIO BETTER QUALITY?
Our mixes are encoded at 96kbps stereo. This is a compromise which allows both reasonable sound quality and acceptable download times. We have used other compression rates in the past and this is the most popular. We are not interested in providing audiophile sound quality and we've got no plans to change the encoding we use at the moment.
WHY DON'T YOU STREAM MIXES?

Doing it properly would mean buying streamed hosting which is way out or our budget. We have looked into streaming mixes through flash. However, to create a stream that was usable for modem users the MP3 quality would have to be very low and we would have to store an extra copy of each mix on our servers which would be a bad use of our very limited space. MP3 downloads are more popular with most people so we're sticking with that.

If you really want to listen to mixes streamed some software will let you stream from MP3, e.g. Windows Media Player.

I WANT A MIX BUT I CAN'T DOWNLOAD IT, CAN YOU HELP?

If you are having trouble with a particular file please let us know, there may be a problem we don't know about. If you're on a slow connection which keeps timing out you could try using free download resume software. If all else fails, email us .

I TRIED TO PUT A MIX ON AN AUDIO CD BUT IT DIDN'T WORK, WHAT'S WRONG?
The sample rate is different from CD audio so it can't be converted directly. First you'll need to convert the MP3 to WAV, then burn the CD from WAV. You can do this with free software such as CDex.
