PLASTIC VOLUME 1 ON RHYTHM INCURSIONS (RESONANCE FM) 20/09/04

We're delighted that Waxfactor and Mr Trick devoted a mini-feature to DELTA 9 Plastics on their Rhythm Incursions show on London's Resonance 104.4 FM on Saturday 18th September! They played 3 tracks from the Plastic Volume 1 compilation; Posthuman - 'Freakydick', Paul Blackford - 'Fallout Part 2' and Stone 3 - 'Sesh'.

"this is a superb compilation from the founders of the popular live event and web zine (www.delta-9.net - source of endless superb mix downloads!) which features the likes of smilex, posthuman, bloq and debasser. terms like "cutting edge" always seem a little redundant when talking about electronica, so let me say "forward thinking" and let you do the rest when you tune in to the feature on last week's show!" - Waxfactor

If you missed the broadcast you can stream it from the Rhythm Incursions archive. It's well worth a listen - Waxfactor and Mr Trick play some of the finest hip-hop influenced sounds you're likely to hear.

Don't forget, you can still buy a copy of Plastic Volume 1 from DELTA 9 Shop.

NEW DOWNLOADS SERVER NOW IN OPERATION 29/04/04
As many of you had noticed our downloads server was becoming increasingly slow and unrealiable. With the help of musicalbear.com we now have new hosting for our MP3 mixes. Please email if you have any comments on the speed/reliability of the new server.
WEBSITE AND DOWNLOAD PROBLEMS 20/04/04
This week delta-9.net has experienced hosting problems (now resolved) which meant the main site was down for nearly 2 days.

These issued are unrelated to the continuing problems with our downloads server. We are aware of the serious degredation of service over the past couple of months and we are currently making arrangements for alternative hosting so we can improve downloads availability.

DELTA 9 website hosting is funded solely by personal contributions from the DELTA 9 team. As our budget is so limited we can't always guarentee the level of reliability we would like.

'STUFF' TO DOWNLOAD 20/10/03
Stuff Records (Glasgow's quirky electronica label) caused a storm with their first release - a sampler containing tracks as diverse as a glitchy Mary J Blige bootleg and an abstract hip-hop cut-up of Sting. We're very pleased that Stuff have given us some downloads to share with you!

If you haven't already checked out Stuff's Gold Blend mix by Grade A now in downloads then go get it - it's phat like a proper funk mix should be.

Also from Stuff is a Sparky live set recorded at Numbers @ The Truffle Club. For those of you who are not familiar, Sparky is responsible for the Mary J track and that awesome electro tune on STUFF001, versions of both are in the live set.
Download from Stuff Records (34MB/40min)

We're told that STUFF002 is on its way so more details soon...

SLOW DOWNLOADS 01/08/03
We've had a few reports of mixes repeatedly timing out before they've fully downloaded. There doesn't appear to be anything wrong at the hosting end so the most likely explanation is that this occurs when too many people are downloading from our server at the same time.

Our mix downloads have become more popular but unfortunatly we can't afford to upgrade our hosting to cope with the demand. You can ease the strain by downloading mixes at quiet times (weekday mornings and weekends). If you're having problems with downloads timing out try using a free download manager like Netscape SmartDownload.

FORTHCOMING MIXES 10/07/03
In the next few weeks we've got brand new mixes coming up from DJ Damo (Charlie Don't Surf), the eminent Bobby Corridor, turntablist extraordinaire Bendyman (this time on an electronic tip), also one from his partner in crime - Inspecta Bush, and DELTA 9's Bishy B will be making his Downloads debut!

The top 10 most popular downloads since January currently look like this:
1. "...TOO MANY MILLS" by ALED (543 downloads)
2. PHILOSOPHY OF TIME TRAVEL by SIXTYTEN (382 downloads)
3. VISION CONSIDERABLY by BOBBY CORRIDOR (372 downloads)
4. THE GHETTO BASS MIX by PAUL BLACKFORD (350 downloads)
5. HIGH ROAD by A-LIFE (341 downloads)
6. MOKEYMAGIC by MOKEYBOY (293 downloads)
7. THE OSLO HOUSE SESSIONS by RAVETAP (264 downloads)
8. MIXED DOUBLES by SMILEX (251 downloads)
9. POST BEAT CRUNCHY FEAT by P$RS#C (245 downloads)
10. 20 MINUTE BUM & THIGH WORKOUT by SPARKLE (210 downloads)

DELTA 9 RADIO 09/05/03
DELTA 9 has joined forces with Radio Campus, Brussels 107.2FM to broadcast our mixes. They are also streamed from radiocampus.ulb.ac.be. Tonight Sixtyten's 'Philosophy of Time Travel' mix will be broadcast at from midnight UK time - perfect for those post-pub sessions :)
MORE MIX HOSTING PROBLEMS... 16/04/03
You might notice that a few of the mixes we had up have disappeared and the remaining mixes are now ZIP files rather than MP3s. We've had more problems with mix hosting - the ISP has decided to close one of the places our mixes are stored due to "copyright/backup content". As far as were aware we've had no complaints from copyright holders (the publishers of the tracks used in our mixes) - artists we've dealt with have been very happy for their material to be used in mixes. The hosting company is just covering their back.

We have chosen to encode the mixes as ZIP - this is a commonly used archive format. Save the downloaded file to disk as normal, you can extract the MP3 from the ZIP file using Winzip software, a free version is available. If we receive more complaints we will have to look at streaming instead of downloads. We will do everything we can to keep the downloads section up and running!

DELTA 9 MIXES BACK UP 20/01/03
The downloads section once again fully operational with some nice new features :) New mixes this week from DJ Damo (Charlie Don't Surf - Cambridge), and Showcase Jase.
WHAT'S GOING ON WITH D9 MIXES? 06/01/03
As you may have heard, we've lost the web hosting where our mixes were stored. Although this is gutting, we feel we were very lucky to have been able to use so much space on super-fast hosting for free for so long. All is not lost, thanks to Larry @ Overdose and Tom @ Musicalbear we've now got lots of space - big ups :) Download speeds might be a little slower than usual, go easy on the new server!

If you know anyone else who may be able to help us with hosting please contact . It would be a real shame if we couldn't continue sharing mixes all over the world.

If you've recently submitted a mix it will take a bit longer than usual to go up, and it wont be up for as long but rest assured it will still be used (if we like it - obviously!).
